Tooth Care Back

Brushing
In order to maintain good teeth and gum health, a combination of home care and regular dental visits are necessary. Home care includes properly brushing teeth 2 TIMES per Day (morning and night ) for 2 Minutes each time and if possible, brushing after every meal.

Flossing
Flossing is extremely important for maintaining good oral health because it cleans where a toothbrush cannot reach. Flossing helps prevent gum disease and aids in the removal of plaque build-up. Performed at least once a day, flossing can aid in the prevention of tartar build-up, which can only be removed with a dental cleaning.

If you are able to perform brushing and flossing consistently at home, the frequency of professional cleaning can be significantly reduced. Come in for a consultation so that we can evaluate your oral health and advise you on the frequency of professional cleanings you might require. We are your partners in helping you maintain good oral hygiene and will be happy to share valuable information with your entire family.

Some recommendations for maintaining oral health:

  • Brush your teeth twice daily or if possible, after every meal in a circular motion with a soft bristled toothbrush aimed at the gum.
  • Floss every night
  • Avoid smoking
  • Avoid sticky sugar-rich foods and beverages
  • Eat a balanced diet as much as possible
  • Use antiseptic and fluoride rinses as directed
